You can have your things repaired at many companies. In this article, you’ll find out which companies offer repair services and what you need to do so that your favorite items can stay with you. Repair instead of throwing away – this motto is in line with sustainability and our WIR DENKEN UM initiative. You too can easily make your own contribution to a sustainable and environmentally friendly life. Whether it’s clothing, backpacks, shoes, or equipment – minor flaws and wear and tear are easy to repair yourself. Super tutorials are available, for example, from Vaude or Patagonia. More serious damage that is not covered by the warranty can often also be repaired. Many companies offer special repair services.

Schöffel Service Factory
At its Schwabmünchen site, Schöffel employs 15 seamstresses who carry out repairs using original materials or make alteration requests for you.
Here’s how it works:
- Contact the dealer where you bought the product.
- Please clean your product before returning it to your dealer.
- Please present your proof of purchase. This serves as proof of the 2-year warranty.
- The product should be sent to the service department via your retailer.
- Schöffel will process your return within a few days, check the possibility of a repair and prepare a cost estimate for your retailer, who will discuss the costs with you.
- Schöffel will process your repair within a few days and send the processed item back to your retailer.

SALEWA
SALEWA runs a maintenance and repair workshop at its headquarters in Bolzano. Here you have the opportunity to breathe new life into your SALEWA products. SALEWA wants to preserve the life of its products as long as possible and ensure the safety of the equipment. The products can be submitted directly via the SALEWA customer service.

Mountain Equipment
Mountain Equipment will repair all products that are still within the legal warranty period free of charge. If you register your sleeping bag online, you even get a 10-year guarantee on down sleeping bags. Gore Tex products are also covered by a particularly long warranty period. If your product is no longer covered by this guarantee, you can of course still make use of the Mountain Equipment repair service. However, this will incur costs. On the Mountain Equipment website you will find a lot more interesting information.
Grüezi Bag

VAUDE
VAUDE has been committed to sustainability and environmental protection for years. So it is hardly surprising that VAUDE also offers a repair service for their clothing. In this way, they want to contribute to conserving resources and extending the life of clothing. Whether it’s a warranty claim or you simply want to have your goods repaired, the procedure is the same.

Norrøna has offered a repair service for all products since the company was founded in 1929. For example, in 2020 a total of 9,769 products were repaired. Here you can register your product for repair. If a repair is no longer possible, Norrøna will check whether the warranty still applies. If this is the case, you will receive a voucher for the full amount of the product.
Houdini
Houdini has been committed to sustainability from the very beginning. For this reason, they also offer a repair service. However, as Houdini’s headquarters are in Scandinavia, we as a specialist retailer will take care of your repair. LÖFFLER
Durability is an essential aspect of sustainability. That is why LÖFFLER also offers its established repair service.
Here’s how it works:
Contact the LÖFFLER service department. It is best to send a short email with a description of the damage. It is best to include a photo of the entire item and the damage, including the surrounding seams. This way, the expert service worker can suggest the ideal repairs and send you a cost estimate. Hanwag
Hanwag offers its customers the option of having their shoes resoled. You can simply send in your Hanwag shoes. You also have to fill out the service form. Please note that the direct processing of service and re-soling services is currently only available for the German market.
How can you tell that the shoes need a new sole?
Despite the use of high-quality materials and excellent workmanship, even high-quality shoes can show signs of wear due to age after some time. For safety reasons, it is therefore important to always pay careful attention to the condition of a shoe. If there is almost no tread left, you should urgently think about resole. In general, Hanwag recommends having products checked by a specialist dealer after six years.

ABS
All ABS products have a two-year warranty from the date of purchase. With ABS, you have the option of extending this to 4 years. The 3-year warranty is only valid for touring and trekking models purchased from 2018 onwards.
