20TH CENTURY: FROM THE CARPENTER'S WORKSHOP TO THE PODIUM

Founded in 1945 by Anton Arnsteiner and based in Mittersill, Austria, the company can undoubtedly be described as one of the most successful ski brands of recent decades. In the meantime, Blizzard, still extremely successful, offers an extensive and modern range in all imaginable ski variations: Racing skis, all-mountain skis, freeride skis and touring skis. No wishes remain unfulfilled.

The history of Blizzard began with the development of the first ski models for private use by Anton Arnsteiner in his father's carpentry shop. Before expanding more and more into the area of touring and freeride skis in recent years, the company relatively quickly made a very good name for itself in the area of piste skis. As early as 1958, the first athlete on Blizzard skis won the world championship title in the triple combination. Many legendary ski racers such as Franz Klammer, Michaela Dorfmeister and Petra Kronberger, who won two Olympic gold medals in Albertville in 1992 and was the first woman ever to decide all five World Cup disciplines in her favour, were enthusiastic about Blizzard, celebrated numerous remarkable victories and made the manufacturer a ski legend known worldwide in the 1980s and 1990s.

Today, the brand is 112 years old and can look back on a long tradition and experience. But the company's philosophy has remained the same: Their goal is to get people excited about skiing, to connect them with nature and to give them the opportunity to experience adventures with the white wonder of snow. For this reason, in addition to the shoes, the brand also produces bags and trekking accessories so that you can easily take the shoes with you wherever you go.

NEW FROM THE CORE UP: THE ALL MOUNTAIN COLLECTION FROM BLIZZARD

For the coming winter, Blizzard has further refined its All Mountain collection: a new, extremely complex wood core ensures a harmonious ride and more control for all demands on the mountain.

Blizzard has literally taken its successful All Mountain line by the core and created a completely new construction: TrueBlend Woodcore technology enables natural and dynamic flex behaviour. For the rider, this means a more relaxed ride, smoother turns, balanced dynamics and steering precision. The basis for this is an unprecedented complexity of the wood core.

TRUEBLEND WOODCORE

Wood offers a wide range of design possibilities in ski construction and is the core of every high-quality ski. In recent years, ski construction has been perfected with layers of different materials pressed on top of each other. Now the Blizzard product developers have dedicated themselves to the design of the wood core itself - and created an unprecedented level of complexity through new production and manufacturing techniques. The use of different types of wood opens up new possibilities for adjusting the skiing characteristics already in the core. For example, a ski should be stiffer in the area under the binding and softer towards the end of the ski.

In concrete terms, this means that Blizzard builds the wood core very small with longitudinally glued wood layers. In the area of the binding, more layers of harder wood are then incorporated and softer, lighter wood towards the tip and tail. This elaborate construction gives the core different stiffness areas with precisely tuned bending properties. This leads to a more harmonious ride.
