Nordica Skiboot Speedmachine

The Nordica Ski Boot Series

The highlight of this year’s ski boot collection from NORDICA is probably the revolutionary further development of the legendary Speedmachine ski boot. The perfected fit, unique design and refined details take the Speedmachine 3 series to the next level. The Speedmachine 3 130 S also received the ispo Gold Award – one of the most innovative products of the coming season. The “Hands Free” collection underlines the importance of innovation – since its launch in December 2019, this series has exceeded all expectations – now further meaningful model additions have been made.

To help you keep an overview, we present the most important NORDICA ski boot models and their differences. So you’re guaranteed to find the perfect ski boot for your piste adventures.

HF Collection

NORDICA’s unique HF (Hands Free) series, launched for the first time in December 2019, has exceeded all expectations in a very short time and revolutionised the comfort ski boot market. The HF concept convinced with its sophisticated construction, which combines excellent comfort with sporty performance. Light, elegant and slim in design, intuitive in function – this is how the sophisticated monolock closure system presents itself. The lock, which is integrated in the rear shell area, is simply pressed down with either the ski pole or the other foot – that’s all. At the end of the ski day, the ski boots can be opened again just as quickly and easily. You don’t even have to bend down to do this; with the help of the ski pole, you can even do it standing up. The opening of the one-piece, anatomically shaped inner boot is 35% wider than that of conventional ski boots. High-quality materials such as PrimaLoft®, ISOTHERM® and the 3D cork inner boot have proven their worth.

Speedmachine

It is a great challenge to further develop and improve a product that is already a legend. But it was precisely this task that sparked an impressive passion in the entire NORDICA team. Indescribably committed and highly innovative, every detail was revised – now NORDICA is setting a new milestone with the Speedmachine 3. The innovative, stiff Honeycomb geometry forms the foundation and saves weight. The softer plastic integrates perfectly into the structure and improves the individual fit through better overlap and increased frictional connection. The Speedmachine 3 shell is rounded off by the soft Easy Entry Soft Flap insert, which guarantees easy entry and exit.

The outstanding 3 FORCE technology has been consistently transferred to the inner boot. Two asymmetrically placed EVA inserts improve the heel fit, increase performance and optimise lateral impulse transmission – for precise, controlled control of the skis. Stylishly presented is the proven NORDICA trademark: the cork coloured in black. And the inner boot is perfected by PrimaLoft® and ISOTHERM®. If required, the shell of the Speedmachine 3 can of course be individually adjusted using the patented InfraRed process, the inner boot in the warming oven and the buckles. Even the tongue can be adjusted quickly and easily with a practical Velcro fastener and, in addition, the flex hardness can be adjusted in three stages in the rear cuff area to suit your personal riding style.

Skiboots Nordica Strider

All Mountain – Strider

The Strider Hike&Ski boot is designed for those who want to draw their own lines in the snow, away from the rutted tracks of others. A lightweight, modern ski boot with a 100mm last – perfect for almost any foot shape. This ski boot makes the ascent easy without sacrificing performance on the descent.

The super-light carbon construction reduces weight, but without sacrificing robustness and power transmission. Once locked, the ski boot transfers power directly to the ski for Nordica’s renowned great downhill performance. When open, it allows for excellent forward flex that makes walking easy.

sustainability at NORDICA

“We see it as our duty, as one of the largest companies in the region, to take a pioneering role in the area of environmental commitment and are pursuing our set goal of making our production facility in Mittersill one hundred percent climate neutral by 2030.” Helmut Exenberger, Managing Director of the ski production facility, Ski Excellence Center, in Mittersill.

In the women’s ski series, NORDICA focuses on renewable natural raw materials and mainly uses wood cores made of balsa wood. The wood of the fast-growing trees is ecological, light and also has a positive effect on skiing performance, as the special cell geometry ensures optimum shock absorption. In addition to renewable raw materials, NORDICA also uses recycled materials, especially in ski boot production. For example, the cork material of the inner shoes, which are equipped with the proven, comfortable Custom Cork Fit technology, consists of one hundred percent recycled, ground-up wine and Prosecco corks. In the inner shoes of each pair, eight recycled wine corks from the region around Montebelluna find a new use – that’s 640,000 pieces per year.

Recycled materials are also used in the warm, quick-drying PrimaLoft inner shoes. PrimaLoft is constantly setting new standards in material research and uses this to make its processes and products even more sustainable. For ski boots, NORDICA uses the high-quality PrimaLoft® Gold Insulation Needled. The fibre consists of 90 percent recycled material – without compromising on quality, function or performance. Collected PET bottles are cleaned, shredded and melted down into pellets. These pellets are then processed into functional PrimaLoft® fibres. In each pair of PrimaLoft® inner shoes, four PET bottles fulfil their new task. In total, 1,056,000 recycled PET bottles per year fulfil their new function in the inner shoes of NORDCIA ski boots. PrimaLoft®’s professional partners are bluesign, OEKO-Tex, Sustainable Apparel Coalition and Global Recycled Standard.

Environmental management is consistently analysed and implemented right down to the packaging. All ski boot and packaging cardboard, as well as hang tags, are FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified. FSC is a globally active, non-profit organisation that sets high standards for the responsible management of forests – both ecologically and socially. The FSC logo on our cardboard boxes guarantees that wood from sustainable forests and production was used in their manufacture. The concept of sustainability is firmly anchored in the minds of every NORDICA employee. Improvements are continuously worked out and implemented throughout the entire value chain to minimise the impact on the environment. Relocating production to other continents is out of the question for NORDICA – every ski and ski boot is produced in the company’s own “MADE in EUROPE” production facilities in a resource-saving manner.
