Raffle: Freetouring Weekend in the Kaunertal

Experience magnificent glacier worlds at your personal freetouring adventure with Black Diamond from the 13th to the 14th of February 2025.

The Kaunertal Glacier is hidden deep in the valley with numerous freeride options. It is not only known for its abundance of snow, but also allows you to quickly and easily escape mass tourism on new trails. That’s why we’re taking you here for 2 days of pure winter adventure. Countless freeride descents await you, which we will of course tailor to your individual ability. Short ascents for an unforgettable touring experience will also be included. However, we will always discuss these with you and the rest of the group. Immerse yourself in a fascinating world of snow and ice.

 

Accommodation:

The Hotel Hafele in Feichten, the closest option to the ski area, serves as the base for our Freetouring Weekend. From there, we take the ski bus up to the glacier every day at a starting altitude of 2500 metres. The Hotel Hafele welcomes you with a very warm and familiar atmosphere, beautiful rooms and everything that makes the ‘all-round’ perfect. Our all-inclusive package includes accommodation with breakfast and an excellent 3-course evening meal from the local kitchen.

What you can look forward to:

• 2 nights in a double room with half board (if the hotel is properly booked)
• 2 days ski pass
• 2 days freeride guiding

• Safety equipment, freeride and touring skis by Black Diamond for testing (subject to availability)

 

 

 

 

Program:

• Arrival: Until Friday 19:00 for welcome, equipment handover and dinner together
• Sat./Sun.: all-day freeride guiding on the Kaunertal Glacier
• Guiding in the terrain, teaching of skiing technique, improvement of skiing skills
• Departure: Sunday after the ski day

Requirements for you:

• Safe and frequent skiing on black pistes
• Basic fitness for 2 full days of off-piste skiing
• Pushing passages for some freeride descents
• Short ascents with skis shouldered (approx. 15 min)
• General uphill transport by lift facilities

 

You should have the following with you:

• Freeride skis with ascent-compatible bindings and skins
• Telescopic poles with large deep snow discs
• Ski touring or freeride boots with walking function
• Freeride rucksack with chest and waist belt approx. 15-30 liters
• Avalanche transceiver equipment (if you don’t have your own, we will provide it free of charge)
• Helmet, ski goggles, sunglasses
• Functional clothing
• Insulation clothing/layer and functional underwear
• 2 pairs of gloves, hat, buff/face protection
• Water bottle/Camelbak

Notes:

• You must organise your own meal arrangements during the day
• Arrival and departure are organised by yourself.

 

 

 

 

Test equipment:

Freeride test skis from Black Diamond will be provided free of charge during the camp. However, depending on the group constellation, not all ski models may be available in the appropriate length for each participant at the same time. Please also note that some of our test skis are equipped with pin bindings and you will need ski boots with pin inserts for them. We therefore ask you to bring your own freeride skis or to speak to us directly in advance if you don’t already have one.

When you receive our test equipment, it becomes your responsibility and liability. In the event of damage or loss of the test equipment, you must pay the replacement price.
