The days are getting longer again and the sun is showing its best side, it’s finally time to contact your mountain-loving friend and spend the first nights of the year in a 1000 star hotel. For this purpose, Grüezi Bag now offers the BIOPOD DOWN HYBRID ICE COLD and Lucas Renz from the mountain sports department tested it for you.
Temperatures are still dropping below zero at night, so a sufficiently insulating sleeping bag is a must have. In the first cold nights of the year, I was allowed to test the new Grüezi Bag Biopod Down Hybrid Ice Cold sleeping bag and would like to share my experience about the sustainable sleeping bag from Germany.
First impression:
The Biopod Down Hybrid Ice Cold comes with two packages, the first voluminous storage bag (80x35cm) is for storing the sleeping bag when it is not in use. The down used needs enough space when stored so that it doesn’t stick together and continues to keep you warm as you dream through the nights. The second package of compression bags is for the active use of the sleeping bag.
The main features:
The Biopod Down Hybrid Ice Cold sleeping bag, with a comfort range of -5 degrees, uses the finest goose down (90/10, 800 + cuin, RDS certified), as well as Norwegian Wool (by Lavalan) as insulation material. The wool plays an important role, protecting the warming down from moisture at night. This is a very important function, as down loses its insulating capacity when damp. In combination, both materials ensure an optimal dry climate in the Biopod Down Hybrid Ice Cold by Grüezi Bag, i.e. the best conditions for a deep and healthy sleep to be fit for an unforgettable experience in the mountains the next day.
In addition, the Grüezi Bag sleeping bag has an integrated heating element that heats up the sleeping bag within 15 minutes using a standard power bank. The fabrics used are made of recycled breathable nylon, which means that Grüezi Bag combines comfort and sustainability in one product.
Sensitive body zones are supported by more strongly filled box chambers and thus ensure a comfortable and restful sleep.
The possibility to refill the Grüezi-Bag Biopod Down Hybrid Ice Cold sleeping bag with down if required makes it a long-lasting companion for all your adventures.
