Care is at the heart of LaMunt‘s sustainable approach. “We take care of our planet, where we lay, and our fragile environment, where we love to spend our Mountain Me-Time. We contribute by giving preference to natural fibers and recycled materials because they are renewable and offer functional performance that Mother Nature has perfected over millennia. We care about the people we work with and the people who make our products. That’s why we’ve been a member of the Fair Wear Foundation from the beginning.”
Production of textiles without pollutant
To develop products that are “safe to wear” and leave as small a trace as possible in the environment, the materials are based on international standards (bluesign® system partner) and are subject to the Oberalp Group’s chemical policy. This exceeds legal standards in the use or restriction of chemicals and supports LaMunt.
The Oberalp chemical policy supports the procurement and quality control of substances. From the beginning it is ensured that the water-repellent function of the products would not be detrimental to people and the environment. Therefore, the company has chosen a water repellent that does not contain harmful fluorocarbons (PFCs).
Working conditions with “Care”
The products are manufactured in independently audited factories to ensure fair working conditions and high social standards. Together with the Fair Wear Foundation, LaMunt strives for better conditions along the supply chain.
“We work exclusively with suppliers who adhere to our Code of Conduct. This does not tolerate child labor or discrimination of any kind, ensures respectful treatment of employees, and voluntary, safe, fairly paid work where overtime is regulated and paid. In addition, our suppliers agree to environmental guidelines, our anti-corruption policy, and a ban on subcontractors. The Fair Wear Foundation (FWF) is a non-governmental organization that specializes in monitoring and improving working conditions in textile factories. FWF supports us with on-site inspections and ensures that human rights are respected along the supply chain. Furthermore, FWF acts as a link between the employees and us so that concerns are acted upon. Every year, the organization conducts a corporate audit with us, LaMunt, called the Brand Perfomance Check. This verifies that we have met the standards we set for ourselves and for improving conditions in the factories. For our efforts, FWF awarded us the highest “Leader” status in the very first year of existence.”
An innovative solution offers the cashmere filling
LaMunt is the first mountain sports brand to use post-industrial recycled cashmere as a sustainable fill for its insulated jackets. Its thermoregulatory properties are outstanding and the ecological footprint is much smaller than conventional filling materials.

“We believe it is important to let our customers share our thoughts. Therefore, we have listed the individual product characteristics for them. This includes country of manufacture, chemical guideline compliance and material details. That way they know exactly what they’re wearing, where it came from and how it was made.”
