Valentin Rapp, livign in Munich, started with the bike-mountaineering first in 2015, and is the youngest member of the Flow Valley crew. The young Upper Bavarian is a former professional slackliner, who used to compete all around the world, and is now producing breathtaking movies and made his name in sports-photography. And that is much more exhausting than you can imagine. The kilos and kilos of photo equipment, that Vale has to carry around, the endless search for the perfect lightning and perspective, while the rest of the crew syncs with the mountain to find the perfect flow. But as you can see on the portfolio of the young cameraman, all the hard work pays off pretty well.

Vale, tell us, how did you come together with the Flow Valley Crew?
I found my way in through Bernd. I have been riding bikes for a while now, but I started with the bike-mountaineering thanks to Bernd and that is how I connected with the rest of the crew from Flow Valley. I think that must have been 2 years ago
What do you appreciate on the crew the most?
It is a team of people who you can always count on and they are always motivated to go and explore the mountains!
What was your most impressive trip on a bike?
Boaaah…. what is that for a question!!!? The home-mountains have everything a mountaineers heart could ask for. I have been on countless impressive bike trips. But sleeping in a bivouac after reaching the top of the mountain with a bike is always super exciting.
So the question: bivouac or tent is pretty clear…

And when can we catch you on the trails, before or rather after work?
Because my hobby became my work, I can’t relate much. As a photographer and cinematographer I have the luxury of spending a lot of time on the mountain and on the trails with my camera equipment.
How does the perfect tour looks like for you?
The one right there… from the valley all the way to the summit, than a summit-snickers and after that a great ride down
Last question.. what do you like better, photography or filming?
There is no “or”. Both of those thing are my great passion!
