Seefeld Langlaufloipe

Finally back on track – in the Olympiaregion Seefeld

… the Olympiaregion is one of the most beautiful destinations in the Alps.

The extensive sunny plateau of the Olympiaregion Seefeld stretches over a snow-sure 1,200 metres. During the winter months, the impressive landscape is transformed into a versatile Eldorado for both enjoyable and ambitious winter sports enthusiasts: with widely cleared winter hiking trails, varied natural toboggan runs, family-friendly pistes and almost endless kilometres of cross-country ski trails. On the way, many cosy huts tempt you with delicious refreshments by the crackling fireplace. With just one step from the hotel door, you are in the middle of nature – if you like it comfortable, just take the mountain railway.

Simply arrive.

The impressive diversity of the Olympiaregion Seefeld is quickly reached from Germany, Bavaria and Munich! Thanks to modern rail connections and well-developed regional transport, real relaxation here is also possible without a car. With its own ICE railway station in Seefeld, you can travel comfortably, punctually and without traffic jams right into the heart of nature. The first address after the border can be reached from Munich in just under two hours – stress-free, safe and beautiful. Already on holiday on the way? With a guest card or cross-country skiing ticket, you can also use the regional bus network free of charge. Arriving and switching off is really easy here.

Karwendelbahn in the winter

Really on track.

Runs with us: In cross-country skiing, the journey is the destination. Hardly any other winter sport combines physical strength, coordination and enjoyment of the landscape as wonderfully as Nordic gliding.  What’s more, cross-country skiing is all the rage right now. Not surprisingly, it saves long-standing times, full gondolas, money on equipment and many an ascending convoy on popular ski touring routes.  In addition, the joint-friendly movement sequence is easy to learn, involves less risk of injury and trains the whole body efficiently!

Pure cross-country skiing diversity.

The five villages of the Olympiaregion Seefeld are united by an extraordinary passion for Nordic skills at a snow-sure 1,200 metres above sea level. During the winter months, Seefeld, Leutasch, Mösern, Reith and Scharnitz are connected by a diverse and varied network of cross-country ski trails covering 245 km. Whether challenging training trails, sun-drenched countryside runs, selected cross-country rounds or special trails for night runs, parasleds and motivated four-legged friends – the diversity of the region seems almost limitless.  Framed by the Karwendel Nature Park and the Wetterstein Mountains, the sunny high plateau offers optimal conditions for a unique cross-country skiing experience in a breathtaking natural setting since 13 November.

Guaranteed snow for a guaranteed start of cross-country skiing

The extensive Leutasch Valley is also considered one of the snowiest regions in Tyrol and also has an exceptionally large number of sunny days in winter. During the winter season, our professional cross-country ski trail service teams are on duty all over the region and around the clock to ensure world-class snow conditions. In the context of the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships, not only were all sports facilities and infrastructures expanded in 2019 but the regional snow management was also modernised in a sustainable way: With snow farming, snow from the previous season is preserved with wood chips, insulation boards and without any chemical additives, stored over the summer months, spread at the beginning of the next winter season and finally prepared for the first cross-country ski run.

Adventure off the trails.

A successful overall experience does not end with cross-country skiing, because when you have exhausted yourself after one or two hours, there is still enough time to enjoy yourself. True to the motto “Everything but après-ski”, you won’t find any crowded party venues here. Instead of falling headlong down the eight natural toboggan runs, you can warm up again in one of the many cosy huts with Tyrolean home cooking – or enjoy a gourmet dinner in one of the excellent restaurants. You can simply skip the steam in the ski cellar and instead be pampered with aromatic infusions in the many excellent wellness hotels. In between, Christmas markets, living traditions and seasonal specialities offer wonderful variety – until the cross-country ski trail beckons again. www.seefeld.com
