Dynafit Race – know-how by and for athletes

The racing season is in full swing and not only professional ski mountaineers had the opportunity to measure themselves already in competition. The Erztrophy in Bischofshofen also offered ambitious athletes the opportunity to test their own performance limits.

Race Collection

With the new collection, the Dynafit brand demonstrates its unmistakable connection to racing. Like no other manufacturer, speed and lightness are rooted in the brand DNA. The new RACE collection for winter 21/22 benefits from targeted development approaches, many years of experience and innovative material combinations of the Dynafit product experts.

So that you are properly equipped for your next competition, we present the highlights of the new RACE collection and tell you which race you should not miss as a ski mountaineer.

DNA SKI TOURING BOOT – 800 GRAMS FOR TOP PERFORMANCE.

The pure Dynafit DNA: this model is reduced to the essentials and is the epitome of speed and top performance with maximum weight optimization. 800 grams, a shaft construction made of carbon and an innovative closure make the DNA touring ski boot the first choice for racing athletes. With a freedom of movement of +/- 60 degrees shaft rotation forward and backward and a bikini liner reduced to the minimum, top athletes are efficient and energy-saving on the ascent.

The new DNA ski touring boot is aimed at professional racers and ambitious ski touring athletes for whom every gram counts, but also reliability in competition.

The extremely lightweight Low Tech Race 115 binding is designed for ambitious ski mountaineers and has already proven itself in many international races with its 115 grams, robustness and reliability. The lateral and vertical release is set at a fixed value determined by our athletes over the years as the best balance between safety and stability. A ski stopper can be attached to the Low Tech Race 115 if required, which has become mandatory in ISMF races since this season. Like all Dynafit bindings, the Low Tech Race is designed and manufactured in Germany.

WEATHER PROTECTION FOR COMPETITION

The new combination of DNA wind jacket and pants from Dynafit reliably protects athletes from wind and cold in adverse weather conditions. Thanks to minimalist construction, the jacket and pants weigh in at just 120 grams. The high-quality nylon material with PFC-free DWR impregnation guarantees reliable weather protection.
A long zipper at the back allows quick donning of the protective layer and freedom of movement during activity. The opening creates space for the backpack, which must be carried according to ISMF regulations and does not have to be taken off to put on the jacket.

RACE HIGHLIGHTS WINTER 21/22

If you’re already equipped from head to toe with Dynafit‘s high-performance products and can’t wait to get to the starting line, here are some absolute race highlights you definitely shouldn’t miss.

JENNERSTIER

In a picturesque landscape – surrounded by the Watzmann, Königsee and Höhen Göll – the 1,874-meter-high Jenner rises to the sky. But the appearance of tranquil mountain scenery will be deceptive when hundreds of ski mountaineers compete for every second in the Vertical and Individual events on February 19 and 20. Once again this year, the participants will be asked to give their all on the technical, steep and varied course. So the athletes should be well prepared if they want to take on the Jennerstier – #speedup ! Here you come to the registration!

STREIF VERTICAL UP

The legendary Hahnenkamm race in Kitzbühel is known to every winter sports fan. Where otherwise skiers race down the Streif at breathtaking speed, the athletes of the Vertical Up fight their way up the slope. 860 vertical meters in the ascent over Hausbergkante and Mausefalle in up to 85 percent steep terrain must be overcome. The rules are simple: the first to reach the top is the winner. It doesn’t matter how, as long as everything is done under your own steam. If you also want to take on the ultimate challenge for trail runners and ski mountaineers, then click here to register.

SELLARONDA SKI MARATHON

Probably the most famous ski touring team race is looking for the fastest “Sellarondisti” again after a break of two years. On 42 km with 2700 HM the athletes circle the Sella Group on the slopes of the Dolomiti Superski ski area and cross legendary Dolomite passes like Campolongo, Pardoi, Sella and Grödnerjoch. With the last rays of sunshine of the day, the racers are seen off into the night before, as expected, the best athletes cross the finish line again after around 3 hours. If you want to be a part of this spectacle, you have to be quick, because the starting places are already sold out within a few hours after the start of the registration. All information about the race can be found here.
