Then we, Sport Conrad in cooperation with the SnowSafety specialist ORTOVOX have just the right offer for you and the best, all expenses for your guidance as well as your tour day pass will be taken over by us and we will prepare an unforgettable day in the snow for you.
In workshop mode we will address all areas around the topic of “safety on the mountain”, practice and bring you closer in an entertaining way. Of course, at such an event the practice should not be missing and so we will take you, if you want, on a few freeride runs or a small entry ski tour. Short and sweet – the perfect event to prepare you for a safe winter.
Because avalanche safety is a particularly important topic for all those who are away from the secured slopes. Touring is booming, but not every tourer is aware of the avalanche situation and can correctly assess the dangers. Therefore, unfortunately, still happen far too many accidents that could have been avoided with the right know-how on the subject of avalanche awareness mostly. We as a sporting goods retailer and expert in the field of ski touring and freeride want everyone who owns avalanche equipment to be able to use it properly, because what good is the best equipment if you do not know how to use it. That’s why we are organizing free workshops for our customers. In our avalanche safety workshop you will learn the basic knowledge in theory and practice for all those who like to move off-piste.
ALL DETAILS ABOUT THE AVALANCHE SAFETY WORKSHOP WITH ORTOVOX AT THE STUIBENSPITZE:
For the Avalanche Safety Workshop with ORTOVOX you have to plan a whole day, the 04.02.2023 – it starts at about 09.00 clock (The exact time you will be notified) at the valley station Alpspitzbahn, Garmisch-Partenkirchen. Here a welcome, briefing and a short introduction will be waiting for you. In an exclusive group of 12 participants, you will then head off into the terrain. Since the number of participants is limited, there is a mega raffle for you: Win one of 12 coveted places for the Ortovox Snow Safety Workshop – Good luck!
On 20.12.22 there will be an action day with ORTOVOX in our branch in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. Here you have from 14.00 to 19.00 o’clock the possibility to be advised by a professional.

Program:
You will learn how to orientate yourself in the terrain, plan tours and read a snow profile correctly. You will practice the correct use of avalanche probe, shovel and avalanche transceiver in case of emergency.
– Welcome and briefing
– Daily program from 09:00-15:30 hrs.
– Avalanche and safety training workshop
– Avalanche search
– Practical snow and avalanche awareness
– Hanging assessment and orientation in the terrain
– Possibly guided freeride descents or small ski tour
– End of the event around 16:00
Requirements:
– Safe and frequent skiing on black slopes
– Basic condition for approx. 1-2 hour ski tour ascent
– Interest in the topic of snow and avalanche awareness/ski touring/freeriding
Equipment:
You should bring the following equipment yourself:
– Freeride / touring skis or split board
– Telescopic poles with large deep snow plates
– Touring, freeride or snowboard boots, with walking function
– Freeride backpack, approx. 15-30 l
– avalanche transceiver equipment (you can also rent it from ORTOVOX)
– helmet, ski goggles, sunglasses
– functional clothing
– Insulation clothing/layer and functional underwear (possibly a change of underwear)
– gloves, hat, buff/face protection
– Water bottle/Camelbak
– Snacks/energy bars
Since our workshop is geared towards ski tourers and splitboarders, your own ski touring or splitboard equipment is a prerequisite for participation in the practice day.

After the end of the competition you will receive an email from us if you were able to get one of the coveted places for the Sport Conrad Snow Safety Workshop together with ORTOVOX – draw from 02.01.2023.
