Backcountry Touring
Endless possibilities, but also responsibility: life in the snow.
The love of ski touring means a never-ending mission to work for the protection of winter. To really enjoy it. To do less damage to it. And to stand up for it with all the means at our disposal. Patagonia wants to contribute by making gear that lasts as long as possible. And you can do your part by using your gear for as long as possible. Fair Trade Certified™-manufactured.

Alpine Downlab
Experience the possibilities of the lightest and most packable insulation nature has to offer.
Humans have been using down to keep warm for more than 400 years. With Alpine Downlab, Patagonia has reinterpreted all approaches to integrating down into your layering system. Patagonia explores the possibilities of the lightest and most packable insulation nature has to offer, not only to rethink what down is, but what it could be.
Featherlight packability
With some of the lightest fabrics Patagonia has ever used and 800-fill goose down, these versatile pieces can be customised to suit your warmth needs and can be kept to a minimum when you’re not using them.
Optimised cut for more freedom of movement
Different quilting patterns distribute warmth to specific areas of the body while increasing freedom of movement so you can add layers without bulk. Made with 100% recycled nylon ripstop fabric and Advanced Global certified down (goose down certified by NSF International to ensure it is not from force-fed or live plucked animals).
Shift system rethought
Patagonia has added “versatile” to “fast and light” so you can quickly adapt to the demands of mountain weather. These pieces can be worn as both a midlayer and an outer layer, so you can adapt to the conditions. With Downlab you can go beyond the traditional baselayer-insulation-shell principle and develop a personal system tailored to your needs.
