Gear Review: Dynafit Bike Outfit

DYNAFIT has given us the chance to test a complete bike outfit. Our selected employee Franzi Storhas was allowed to test the clothing extensively for us. Here you can read what she thinks of the DYNAFIT bike clothing.

As an active outdoor sportswoman, whether it’s mountain biking, running or hiking, I like to get out into nature as much as possible. Of course, there is always the question of the right material. Functionality, breathability, weather resistance, the lightest possible weight and, not to forget, wearing comfort, are decisive criteria for me when choosing the perfect clothing.

First impression:

The DYNAFIT bike outfit (size XS), consisting of DYNAFIT Ride Padded Under Tights, DYNAFIT Ride Dynastretch Shorts, DYNAFIT Ride Bike Jersey Beet Red, DYNAFIT Ride 3-L Jacket and the DYNAFIT Ride Bike Gloves Flamingo.

But now let’s take it one step at a time. I received the eagerly awaited package and the bright colours Beet Red & Flamingo of the DYNAFIT collection beamed at me. The first impression was positive, the workmanship seemed very good, the material felt pleasant and the weight – as you would expect from Dynafit – was very light. As the peaks of the local Ammergau Alps were still covered in snow at the beginning of May, the first practical tests were carried out on 2 – 3 hour tours through the Ammergau foothills of the Alps in Bavaria.

Under Tights and Shorts

In order to have fun cycling even on longer tours or on consecutive days, a good seat pad is essential for cycling tights. Based on my experience so far, DYNAFIT’s Ride Padded Under Tights meet this requirement really well! Tours on three consecutive days are no problem. The fit is good and breathable. One of my highlights of the entire test outfit is the DYNAFIT Ride Dynastretch Shorts. If they seem a bit tight when you put them on, you hardly feel them on as good as not at all! The waistband can be individually adjusted with Velcro fasteners on the sides. The pants are wind- and water-repellent, but also breathable and therefore quick-drying. Equally thoughtful are the attached pockets – some with inside pockets and one with its own integrated smartphone pocket, so that my phone does not slip during the ride.

Jersey and Gloves

The casually cut DYNAFIT Ride Bike Jersey Beet Red feels very comfortable on the skin and dries quickly. Small ventilation holes on the sleeves ensure good breathability. The DYNAFIT Ride Bike Gloves Long Flamingo are made of very lightweight stretch material. On the inside, the fabric is reinforced on the one hand, but also ventilated by small holes on the other side. In addition, fine silicone strips provide a good grip on the handlebar.

The Jacket

Another very well thought-out part of the test package is the DYNAFIT Ride 3-layer jacket. With its 227 grams, the hardshell jacket protects against wind and rain! A real special feature is the backpack system! Through a zipper, the jacket can be enlarged and thus a backpack with about 18 L can be pulled underneath. That’s why provisions are protected from rain and mud! In addition, the hood fits over the helmet and can be adjusted by means of only one hand on the elastic. Two ventilation zips ensure that you don’t sweat too much during strenuous activity. The fit of the jacket should also be emphasised. Both the long cut at the back and the tight yet flexible cuffs at the sleeves protect you from all adverse weather conditions.
So nothing stands in the way of a bike tour with spontaneous rain shower, because you yourself, but also the belongings in the backpack are perfectly protected!

In summary, it is safe to say that DYNAFIT has more than fulfilled my expectations with it’s bike collection. The consistent design, excellent wearing comfort and breathability have convinced me. The reflectors attached all parts also help you to be seen at dusk or in foggy weather conditions. So I always come safely to my next destination.
