Especially in running, Nike is very strong, having shoes for all terrains, be it street, off-road, track or trail. Then there is the clothing to go along with your shoes: pants and shirts, jackets, caps and underwear, as well as backpacks and bags.

Nike’s sustainable innovation

As Nike states themselves: Just like we demand more from our bodies, they demand more from themselves. And this means, that in production, only those materials that really support the athlete should be used. The ecological footprint is minimized throughout the entire supply chain. The use of resources such as water, waste and chemicals is analyzed and improved. Also, the brand invests heavily into new technologies that make the production itself even more efficient and sustainable. And of course, they also invest into their employees – because they are the source of all innovation, creativity and diversity!

Nike Flyknit technology

A material, that is used in many of Nike’s running shoes is the so-called Flyknit: less weight, more breathability and support. Different weaving techniques are used to create a surface material. Where needed, this material will be thicker to give more stability. In other areas of the shoe, it will be thinner to be more breathable and give more flexibility. Flyknit, by the way, also leads to up to 60% less waste in the production of running shoes!
