The Sport Conrad warehouse is located in Iffeldorf, which is very close to our store in Penzberg. From there, all our online orders are sent out and several times each day, products are transported from the warehouse to our four stores. If a product you are looking for is not available in the right size or colour at your favorite store location, we can easily get it from either one of the other stores or from Iffeldorf! But please be aware: the warehouse is only open to Sport Conrad employees, so if you are nearby and looking for some great outdoor products, make a visit to our store in Penzberg instead! Regularly, we have our Sport Conrad Outlet sales. Here, you will find some pretty amazing offers! These outlet sales do not take place at our warehouse, but at our store in Wielenbach.
An overview of our warehouse
Lots of things are happening in our warehouse. About 30 of our employees work in different departments at this location. Mostly, they are concerned with the packing and sending out of our products. Also, we have some mechanics, taking care of the mounting of skis and bindings. In high season, these guys mount about 300 skis per day! The warehouse has about 3.500 squaremeters, making room for lots and lots of great outdoor equipment and clothing. Especially around christmas, we are extremely busy here. In 2017, more than 350.000 packages were sent out from here! And with these high numbers of packages, our pickers are collecting quite some meters. Every day, these guys walk around 25 to 30km, our current record is 40km by one single man in one day – that is like doing a marathon in our warehouse!
Other than storing and sending out products, we are also taking care of the mounting of bikes and skis, as well as the ski service of those products, that were ordered through our online shop here.
Our warehouse also has a very unique birth story. Originally, it was located in the basement of our store in Penzberg. But that became too small and we started building our warehouse in Iffeldorf. At that time, a rather old building was located on the site, which needed to be torn down. We were in quite a hurry, because we wanted to be done with the building by the following winter. But then, a small bird – redstart – was seen on site. Since we were currently in breeding season, we had to stop the contstruction for about 4 months. For us, that was quite a desaster considering the short time frame. But in the end, it all worked out. The warehouse was finished on time and the birds were doing well!
