Wir Denken Um Week

22.-30.11.2024

Wir Denken Um (we are rethinking our business)—actually, 365 days a year. But during our Wir Denken Um campaign week from November 22 to 30, 2024, we invite our customers to make conscious purchasing decisions and to use our secondhand offerings as well as our repair and care services in the spirit of the four R’s: “rethink,” “reuse,” “repair,” and “recycle.

At the heart of our Wir Denken Um week is this year’s donation campaign to support children in the region to enjoy winter fun free of charge right on their doorstep—a cause close to our hearts, as many children might otherwise lose the chance to learn skiing.

OUR DONATION: SKI LOCALLY FOR FREE. SUPPORTING YOUNG SKIERS

We’re passionate about winter sports and want to pass that on to the next generation. That’s why it’s important to us that children can (learn to) ski locally. For this reason, we’re donating one percent of the total revenue from the Wir Denkem Um week 2024 and offering free ski tickets to children at regional ski areas. This way, together we support the future of winter sports—with short travel distances and a small CO₂ footprint.

Often, it’s these small ski areas that produce tomorrow’s ski stars and keep the spirit of ski and snow sports alive in the region with dedication and idealism. Learn more about what it takes to keep a small ski area running in our magazine interview with Michael Krinner from the Ötzlifte ski area.

When We’ll Distribute the Ski Tickets

We will issue tickets at the following lifts: Saturday, 01.02.2025: Am Ried, Farchant Saturday, 01.02.2025: Barmseelift, Krün Saturday, 01.02.2025: Rabenkopf, Oberau Saturday, 01.02.2025: Jaudenhang, Brauneck Sunday, 02.02.2025: Kranzberg, Mittenwald Sunday, 02.02.2025: Steckenberg, Unterammergau → Get all the information here!

Does this affect us too?
The retreat of glaciers also affects Germany. As early as 2022, the Southern Schneeferner on the Zugspitzplatt will have lost its glacier status and will only be listed as dead ice. Today there are only four glaciers left in Germany - an alarming sign.

The idea behind our WDU week

OUR SUSTAINABILITY STRATEGY: THINKING IN GENERATIONS

We’re mountain enthusiasts and love spending time in nature. As passionate mountain sports enthusiasts, we know how much we and future generations rely on an intact environment. That’s why we developed our "We’re Rethinking" sustainability strategy in 2018.

Since then, we’ve optimized many aspects of our company and are constantly looking for ways to improve. We’ve increased our energy efficiency, reduced our CO₂ emissions, and avoid waste wherever possible. We also continually improve our product range by prioritizing environmentally friendly and responsibly made products.

So that our customers can make more sustainable purchasing decisions, we’ve awarded our "We’re Rethinking" seal to both brands and products since 2018. These must meet specific criteria and are regularly reviewed.

Neither our brand partners nor we are perfect. But we’re working together to reach our summit challenge by 2030. As a family business in its fourth generation, we understand that a healthy environment is essential to our business. Therefore, we’ve set ourselves no less a goal than to become the most sustainable outdoor retailer in the Alpine region with alpine products.

It takes dedicated people who happily join this more challenging path: our business partners, our employees, and our customers, who rethink with us and make a contribution together every day.
