Our feet are put under a lot of strain during any kind of exercise - even long bike rides, where the connection between foot, shoe and pedal is crucial. Even when you are not in contact with the ground, the constant strain can lead to problems such as pain or even injury. And knee, hip and back pain can often be caused by foot malpositions. Customised insoles support the foot by taking into account the individual shape of the arch and other personal characteristics of the foot. They relieve and prevent the arch from sinking permanently.
Insoles that are optimally tailored to the foot also improve the fit in the shoe - this reduces friction or even rubbing of the toes in the shoe. The sole holds the foot in place, ensuring optimal load distribution and better stability. How we make them
At Sport Conrad we work with Sidas custom insoles. The French brand's ingenious concept makes it possible to produce insoles that are 100% tailored to your feet and needs in a matter of minutes.
First, a foot analysis is carried out to determine the anatomy of your feet and your needs. Meanwhile, the insole blanks are heated in an oven at 80 degrees Celsius for a few minutes to make them malleable. The feet are then placed in the sand-filled Sidas vacuum cushion to create a negative impression of the mould. The Sidas insole is then placed in the mould and the foot is placed on top of it. This allows the insole to adapt to the shape of the foot and cools down in this position within about six minutes. If necessary, additional stabilising elements are incorporated into the sole. Finally, our experienced employees work on the contour of the soles and adapt them to the shoe model, such as ski or hiking boots.
