Experience the Vinschgau
Sport Conrad has close ties with South Tyrol. Hans Conrad, Managing Director of Sport Conrad and a passionate ski mountaineer, has a particular love for one region: the Vinschgau. It attracts winter sports enthusiasts with its many destinations. With 14 three thousand metre peaks, Vinschgau is the perfect area for ski touring afficionados and offers something for both beginners and advanced skiers.
After the tour you can enjoy a meal in one of the region's lovingly run organic hotels. Skiers will also be in their element: the Sulden ski resort offers 44 kilometres of varied slopes for young and old. So there couldn't be a better region to inspire our new Conrad magazine. Tour tip: Skimo tour to the Suldenspitze 3,375 m
It is undoubtedly one of the classic ski tours in the region: the ascent of the 3,375 m high Suldenspitze. The ascent from the north side, partly over glaciers, and the proximity to the Sulden ski resort at the foot of the peak, make it possible to start the season early and enjoy the tour until late spring. The impressive backdrop of the Königsspitze and Zebru on the ascent and the breathtaking panorama of the majestic Ortler peaks make this tour particularly popular.
Directions
From the car park walk up the slope to the middle station of the glacier cable car. From here follow the summer path to the Schaubachhütte, the mountain station of the glacier cableway (approx. 2 hours). From there you climb south to the glacier below the Suldenspitze.
The path leads over two steep steps to just below the Eissee Pass (transition to the Casatihütte). Go west to the Janiger Scharte and then left along the ridge to reach the summit (2.5 hours from the Schaubachhütte). The descent follows the same route as the ascent, starting from the Rifugio Schaubach along the slope.

Dessert Recipe Tip: Vinschgauer Schneemilch
The Val Venosta holiday dessert is not only delicious on special occasions, but is also the rich icing on the cake after a long day in the mountains, giving you enough energy for the next adventure. This popular traditional dessert probably originates from the Val Senales and is prepared differently on each farm - families spoon the snow milk together from a large bowl.
Ingredients for 4 people
170g white bread
50 g raisins
125 g milk
500g of cream
30g sugar
1 tablespoon rum
Chocolate shavings
Preparation
Cut the white bread into cubes and place in a shallow dish. Wash the raisins, sprinkle over the bread and moisten with a little milk. Whip the cream with the sugar until stiff, add the rum and spread evenly over the bread. Cover and leave in the fridge for 1 hour. Before serving, sprinkle the snow milk with grated chocolate and serve on plates.

The skiresort of Sulden is located in the heart of the Ortler Group in the Stelvio National Park. From October to the beginning of May, winter sports enthusiasts and families can enjoy around 44 kilometres of varied pistes, surrounded by 14 three-thousand-metre peaks. A fun park with halfpipe and boardercross, as well as the most modern infrastructure up to more than 3,000 metres above sea level, offer optimal conditions for ski enthusiasts. The most modern cable car in the Alps takes you directly to the Ortler ski paradise in just a few minutes.
