Zugspitz Ultratrail 2026

The Zugspitz Ultratrail by UTMB is one of the largest and most exhilarating trail running events in Europe. Every June, Garmisch-Partenkirchen becomes the gathering place for the international trail running community—with over 5,000 athletes, a festival atmosphere, and unforgettable moments set against the backdrop of Germany’s highest mountain. Across 7 spectacular distances ranging from 16 kilometers to the legendary 100-mile race, beginners, ambitious runners, and ultra-athletes experience the thrill of trail running up close.

What you can expect at the ZUT

In addition to the sporting highlight, participants can look forward to a large expo area featuring many well-known brands and a wide range of trail running products. It is located right next to the finish line at Richard-Strauß-Platz, in the adjacent parking lot in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. You’ll also be treated to delicious and healthy snacks there.
