Repair instead of throw away
Välkommen to the Houdini Repair Days!
We firmly believe that repairing is better than replacing! Most items of clothing can be made fit for your next outdoor adventure with relatively little effort. This not only saves resources, but also your wallet. Swedish outdoor brand Houdini will repair your outdoor clothing free of charge on two dates during Climate Spring Oberland 2024 in two of our stores.
What do you have to do? Simply bring your washed garment in need of repair to one of our stores. A maximum of three items per person will be accepted, regardless of brand. Please note that zip repairs are a little trickier: you can find out from the Houdini repair professional on site whether your zip can be repaired on the same day.

What can be repaired:
> Holes and tears in Gore-Tex and other membranes
> Holes and tears in jersey and fleece fabrics
> Holes and tears in down jackets and other insulating products
> Broken buttons, Velcro, stoppers, etc.
> Broken zips (only possible after consultation on site)
Good reasons to repair outdoor clothing
According to the European Parliament, the EU generates 35 million tonnes of waste each year*. Approximately 5.8 tonnes of this is textile waste. Per capita textile waste is around 11 kilograms per year**. Only a small proportion of this is recycled or ends up on the second-hand market. In many cases, there is a good solution to reducing the environmental impact of our clothes: repair.
It used to be the norm to repair things. Unfortunately, with the advent of fast fashion, this fundamentally sustainable idea has been lost in our consumer society. The most sustainable product is the one you already have. That's why it makes sense to use outdoor clothing for as long as possible by taking good care of it and repairing it.
