The future of freeriding: The Ortovox Avabag Litric Freeride 26 Short is an avalanche airbag backpack specifically designed for off-piste skiing. From powder days near the slopes to multi-day freeride trips, different sized Avabag Litric Freeride Short and Tour Short Zip attachments can be attached to a single base, always tailored to the specific use. The Zip is designed so that the various packs and the base merge seamlessly into a single unit.

The base, consisting of the back element and airbag system, of the Avabag LiTRIC Freeride 26 Short has a shortened back system and is specifically designed for shorter people. Furthermore, thanks to the Clasp Back System – with soft back pads, a wide, flexible hip belt, and soft shoulder straps – the versatile, lightweight Freeride Base sits compactly on the back while allowing complete freedom of movement. It is compatible with the separately available Clasp Spine Protector. Furthermore, all the pack's features are perfectly tailored to freeriding: Features such as ski, snowboard, and ice axe attachments, as well as a helmet holder and quick access to the main compartment, leave nothing to be desired. Emergency equipment can be stowed in a separate safety compartment.

LiTRIC, the electronic airbag system, combines lightness with ease of use and reliability. The electronic system charges via USB-C in approximately 25 minutes and allows numerous test deployments at no additional cost. Eliminating cartridges means more space, no weighing, no cartridge disposal, and no travel restrictions. The design is well-thought-out down to the last detail; supercapacitors are used instead of cartridges, and the airbag is super lightweight – making the system one of the lightest on the market. The system is also particularly easy to use.

From the charging process and LED charging indicator to the deployment handle, leg loop, and packing the airbag: LiTRIC Avabags are absolutely intuitive to use. One charge allows for at least two deployments. Operating time in ON mode is approximately 60 hours, allowing multi-day tours without recharging. The operating temperature ranges from -30° to +45° C. All products in the Avabag LiTRIC Freeride line are climate-neutral and PFC-free. Registering the system at https://www.ortovox.com/service-hub extends the system warranty from 2 to 5 years.
