The Sarner jacket consists of undyed wool from Tyrolean mountain sheep and fine merino wool, combined with a viscose jersey lining. Due to the dense knit construction and a high proportion of lanolin, also known as wool wax, the jacket has very good temperature-regulating properties and at the same time protects against wind and light rain.

Craftsmanship has a long tradition in the Sarntal valley to the north of Bozen: To this day, manual work is still used to process the valuable wool of the mountain sheep that graze on the steep alpine meadows. As a Salewa Committed product, the jacket is made from local wool, which is also mixed with fine merino fibers. The undyed fibers that create the natural look are also a consistent measure to reduce water and energy consumption.
