The Deuter Freerider 22 SL is a lightweight women's freeride backpack designed for ski touring and backcountry descents. Its women-specific SL carrying system combines a shorter back length with the close-fitting LiteSnow back system, giving you freedom of movement and a stable fit in snowy terrain.

The LiteSnow back system is designed specifically for winter conditions and low weight. Snow-shedding materials and the special construction of the back padding reduce snow build-up and moisture absorption. At 950 grams, the Freerider 22 SL remains lightweight while providing the functional setup needed for tours in the backcountry.

The large U-shaped rear opening provides access to the main compartment without having to remove skis or a snowboard attached to the outside. A dedicated compartment keeps avalanche safety equipment readily accessible, while skis can be carried at the side or diagonally and a snowboard, ice axe and poles can be attached externally. A detachable mesh helmet holder completes the winter-specific setup.

SL = women-specific fit
The women-specific nature of the SL back length is already apparent in the back length: on average, women's backs are not quite as long as those of men. The carrying system of the SL models is therefore slightly shorter than that of Deuter's standard backpacks. In addition, the carrying system is specially adapted to the female anatomy.
