Salewa MTN Trainer 2 GTX is the Gore-Tex version of the popular approach shoe.  It is a sporty multifunctional boot for a wide range of alpine activities. This is especially true for alpine approaches, technical hikings and via ferratas. The Gore-Tex membrane makes the shoe more robust in wet conditions compared to the regular MTN Trainer.

The multifunctional Vibram MTN Trainer Evo outsole has self-cleaning grooves and aggressive lugs that guarantee good grip on harder grounds and traction on soft terrain. For ferratas, special right-angled lugs form a via ferrata zone under midfoot to improve grip on iron.

The climbing lacing system can be adapted individually at the toe for greater climbing precision. This is part of Salewa’s 3F system that connects heel zone and the instep area with the sole. As a result, you will get a finely tuned balance between support and fit.

A semi-stiff midsole is supportive at the midfoot, but still allows good forefoot-flex for moving forward dynamically. Comfort and foot climate are provided by a moisture wicking OrthoLite footbed and a breathable and waterproof Gore-Tex lining.
