The Ortovox Downwool 180 is a lightweight and comfortably warm insulated waistcoat for year-round use in the mountains. Whether worn as an outer layer in mild conditions or as an extra layer of warmth under a shell, it offers reliable insulation whilst allowing plenty of freedom of movement.

Its exceptional thermal performance is provided by the DownWool® by Grüezi bag® insulation, comprising 70 % down and 30 % wool. This combination brings together the advantages of both natural materials: the wool absorbs any moisture that builds up and helps the down to maintain its loft – or even increase it by up to 30 %. This ensures that the warmth remains pleasantly consistent even during strenuous climbs or in slightly damp conditions, without you overheating too quickly.

The windproof and water-repellent outer fabric, made from 100 % polyamide, provides additional protection against changeable weather. A protective collar and the adjustable hem ensure a comfortable fit and reliably keep cold air out. The extended back panel offers additional coverage, whilst two front pockets provide space for essential small items.

When on the move, the vest can be stowed compactly in the supplied pack sack with a fastening loop. This makes the Ortovox Downwool 180 vest a versatile companion for hikes, mountain tours and outdoor adventures in any season.
