The Hanwag Makra Pro GTX Mountaineering Boots are suitable for demanding mountain tours with glacier passages, as well as for easier high and rock tours in summer. The lightweight and stable all-rounder is equipped with waterproof Gore-Tex membrane and durable Perwanger upper leather. 

A combination of PU, TPU and EVA is used for the lightweight, yet particularly stable midsole. PU in the heel – with integrated crampon support made of TPU – provides perfect cushioning, EVA in the forefoot area for precision in the approach. The Vibram Makra outsole offers excellent grip. The "Hanwag 2 Zone Lock" with a mechanical clamp provides improved heel hold. Unlike a conventional clamp hook, the mechanical clamp blocks reliably and can no longer slip after fixing – without manual intervention.

A feature of the Makra family is the optimized Ghilly lacing up to the toe area – here the laces are pulled through textile loops. The foot thus has a good hold even in the front area and in a half-high model, and you stand stable in the shoe. The Alpine Wide lasts offer you a slightly wider forefoot area for more comfort – whereby the Hanwag Makra Pro GTX Mountaineering Boot, however, does not lose climbing performance and precision in the approach.
