The Dynastar Speed 550 is a sporty piste ski for advanced skiers who want to make fast, smooth carving turns. Its geometry, inspired by slalom racing skis, combines a responsive feel with controlled stability and is suitable for versatile use on groomed slopes.

The combination of rocker and adaptive sidecut facilitates tight turns, easy turn initiation and reliable edge grip. The Hybrid Core 2.0, made from a tridirectional poplar wood and PU construction, reduces vibrations and ensures a smooth ride.

The U-shaped Omega Ti reinforcement increases torsional stiffness and stabilises the ski at higher speeds. Unidirectional fibreglass and the sandwich full-sidewall construction support direct power transfer, allowing the ski to be guided in a controlled manner throughout the entire turn.

Technology

HYBRID CORE 2.0

The Hybrid Core 2.0 combines the natural riding characteristics of wood with the lightness and damping properties of PU. The construction reduces the use of bonded fibreglass layers and promotes a balanced ratio of weight, smoothness and responsiveness.

HYBRID CORE 2.0 POPLAR TRI-DIRECTIONAL PU

The core combines tri-directionally arranged poplar wood with PU elements. The orientation of the wood fibres promotes even power transfer, whilst the PU dampens vibrations and contributes to a smooth ride.

OMEGA TI

The U-shaped Omega Ti reinforcement specifically stabilises the central section of the ski. It increases torsional stiffness and supports precise edge control during dynamic turns and at higher speeds.

TIP ROCKER

The moderate rocker at the tip of the ski makes it easier to initiate turns and makes the ski more manoeuvrable. At the same time, sufficient edge contact is maintained for controlled carving turns.

ADAPTIVE SIDECUT

The adaptive sidecut creates a smooth transition between the tip, the middle and the tail of the ski. This allows the ski to be guided harmoniously into the turn and ensures a controlled response to shifts in weight.

SANDWICH FULL SIDEWALL CONSTRUCTION

The full-length sidewall construction channels the applied force directly to the ski edges. It ensures reliable edge grip, precise control and stable handling on groomed slopes.

UNIDIRECTIONAL FIBREGLASS

The unidirectional fibreglass strands stabilise the construction and facilitate direct energy transfer. At the same time, they contribute to a consistent flex and a controlled skiing experience.

SINTERED FACTORY BASE

The factory-prepared, sintered base offers good gliding properties across a range of piste conditions. Its durable structure is designed for regular, sporty use.
