The Deuter Futura 21 SL is a lightweight women's-fit hiking backpack for day hikes. It is designed for you if you carry a lighter load and appreciate effective back ventilation and a close, comfortable fit on the trail.
The Aircomfort back system creates space between the pack and your back to allow plenty of air to circulate. A flexible spring steel frame stabilizes the load, while the pivoting ActiveFit shoulder straps and ergonomically shaped hip fins adapt to your movements and distribute the weight evenly between your shoulders and hips. This makes the compact Futura comfortable to carry on longer day hikes.
Stretch pockets on the outside and hip fin pockets keep frequently used items within easy reach, while a separate internal compartment can be used for wet clothing. The result is a compact hiking pack with storage designed around the needs of a day on the trail. Deuter recommends a load of 3 to 6 kg.

The women-specific nature of the SL back length is already apparent in the back length: on average, women's backs are not quite as long as those of men. The carrying system of the SL models is therefore slightly shorter than that of Deuter's standard backpacks. In addition, the carrying system is specially adapted to the female anatomy.
