It may not look like it, but make no mistake: Therm-A-Rest's NeoLoft is a true backpacking sleeping pad. From the inside out, every element of NeoLoft comes together to provide superior comfort while remaining incredibly lightweight and packable. 3D construction makes the pad 4.6" thick, making NeoLoft a side sleeper's dream. Vertical sidewalls connect the top and bottom fabrics, eliminating the tapered edges of non-3D pads. This increases the sleeping surface by 20% and provides excellent stability—you never feel like you're going to fall off.

Outside, NeoLoft's surface is made of a plush stretch knit fabric (NeoLoft is the first air pad ever made from stretch knit). Stretch knit is a base layer-like fabric with multidirectional elasticity and feels much softer than the nylons typically used to make backpacking pads. Its stretch enhances NeoLoft's contour support and helps minimize pressure points by conforming locally to the shape of your body. On the inside is the ContourCore Matrix™ - the epicenter of NeoLoft's backcountry-ready specs.

It insulates efficiently by minimizing convective heat loss with two rows of triangular chambers stacked on top of each other, while ThermaCapture™ reflects body heat back to you, delivering a year-round R-value of 4.7. Large chambers have been built into the sides that rise to form side rails when the pad is inflated. These give your body a tactile feel for the edge of the pad and a secure lying feeling.

Therm-A-Rest has equipped the NeoLoft with their TwinLock™ valve system for high-volume pads. The two-valve system inflates the NeoLoft quickly with a special "in" valve with one-way airflow, and quickly deflates it with a special "out" valve. Combined with a high-volume pump bag and sealed seams, the NeoLoft inflates and packs down quickly and efficiently.
