The Alpine Hemp upper is made from a blend of Alpine hemp fibers. It has a unique surface texture and offers natural performance with exceptional strength and high breathability. The hybrid fabric construction of hemp and bio-based Sorona® polymer fibers ensures long-lasting softness and thermoregulating comfort. Durastretch side panels provide additional abrasion resistance and elasticity. Hemp is a unique natural functional fiber with a low environmental impact. When grown, the plant is naturally resistant to pests, requires relatively little water and grows quickly.

Salewa combine hemp here with Sorona®, a sustainable, plant-based biopolymer fiber, because it allows us to offer a soft, silky feel and stretch even without the use of elastane. This jacket is a Salewa Committed product, manufactured according to additional strict and independently verified environmental and social standards. Both hemp and Sorona® fibers are completely biodegradable.

In stormy weather, the shaped elastic hood, adjustable hem and cuffs with integrated thumb loops help keep the wind out. On warmer days, the zip-off sleeves transform the jacket into a short-sleeved vest in no time. In addition, the front zipper panel is equipped with press-studs, which allow for ventilation even when the jacket is worn closed.
