With a weight of only 85 grams, the Petzl Basic Ascender is very light and also compact. It was designed for ascending on fixed ropes and is suitable for use on single ropes with a diameter of 8-11 mm.

It is also suitable for use in big wall climbing. It can be used as a ascender or as a pulley backstop.

The serrated clamping cam with cleaning slot ensures optimal function in all conditions. In addition, the Petzl Basic Ascender has a large lower connecting eyelet into which two carabiners can be hooked.
