The Deuter Trail 22 SL is a compact women's hiking backpack designed for demanding hikes, mountain tours and via ferrata routes. Its SL carrying system is specifically adapted to the female anatomy, while the close-fitting design gives you stability and freedom of movement in steeper and more technical terrain.
The Airstripes back system combines a reduced contact surface with large ventilation channels. Together with the perforated shoulder straps and hip fins, this promotes effective airflow while distributing the load close to the body and keeping the backpack snug and stable during dynamic movement. Movable, ergonomically shaped Active Fit shoulder straps adapt to your movements and complement the close-fitting carrying system.
The Trail 22 SL also shows its mountain-focused character on via ferrata routes: attachment points on the shoulder straps keep the carabiners of a via ferrata set within easy reach, while the flat lid construction leaves sufficient headroom when wearing a helmet. The large wraparound zipper opening gives you quick access to your equipment without having to search through the main compartment. Stowable hip fins add flexibility when they are not required.

The women-specific nature of the SL back length is already apparent in the back length: on average, women's backs are not quite as long as those of men. The carrying system of the SL models is therefore slightly shorter than that of Deuter's standard backpacks. In addition, the carrying system is specially adapted to the female anatomy.
