Grivel has been producing ice axes and crampons at the foot of Mont Blanc since 1818. For over 10 years, Grivel has exclusively used renewable energies such as solar and hydroelectric power at its own site. The company's own photovoltaic system saves 83.000 liters of oil per year. In production, Grivel strives to save resources: For example, the traditional solvent-based varnish has been replaced by water-based varnish in the paint shop. The company makes a point of using environmentally friendly and more easily disposable biogenic lubricants. In the area of packaging, which can also have a significant impact on the environment, Grivel relies on renewable raw materials such as adhesive tape made of craft paper and inner packaging made of grass paper.
