The Völkl Rise Above 88 is a reliable companion on your ski tours and impresses with a light, stable ride.

The Rise Above 88 performs impressively on both ascents and descents. A multi-layered wood core offers an impressive combination of minimal weight, stability and smooth running. The 3D radius sidecut features a highly elastic tip, which is particularly advantageous in windy snow conditions.

The sidecut geometry is agile and manoeuvrable in tight passages, whilst the full sidewall provides great stability and durability. The combination of a narrow waist under the boot and moderate shaping in the tip and tail areas helps the skier maintain control and requires less effort, even on ski tours with a heavy rucksack. 

The Völkl Rise Above 88 is also equipped with Völkl’s Smart Skin Clip System, which is compatible with both Fibre Tech and Smart Glue skins.

Hybrid Multilayer Woodcore
The extra-light hybrid multilayer wood core is a highly complex core used in the Blaze. This wood core utilises lightweight yet highly stable poplar and beech woods, which are individually weighed and selected by weight prior to gluing. In the tip-to-tail construction, the wood extends all the way to the tip and tail of the ski, giving them a sophisticated combination of good stability and low weight. At the centre of the core, a CNC-milled Isocore section contributes to optimum responsiveness and dynamic performance. All in all, this construction ensures the ski’s stability meets the high demands of a freeride ski, whilst weighing only slightly more than a touring ski.

3D Radius Sidecut
Three radii in one ski for maximum responsiveness and speed in all-mountain use. Wider radius at the tip and tail – the wider radii at the tip and tail are ideal for wide turns and high speeds. Easy control and manoeuvrability. Less edge catch. No restrictions on turn radii and easy exit from turns. Tight turn radius – the tight radius in the middle favours tight turns and moderate speeds. Extremely easy turn initiation. Super responsive. Effortless and smooth in tight turns.

Smart Skinclip
The newly developed Smart Skinclip system allows the ski tourer to decide for themselves, depending on the situation, in which direction they wish to attach or remove the skin. At the tail end, a standard snap hook ensures that the skin can be attached and removed from the rear. In addition, the skin can be attached and removed quickly and conveniently from the front. This flexibility is made possible by an elastic snap hook that is easy to grip, even when wearing gloves. A subtle recess in the shovel provides lateral guidance for the hook and prevents the skin from coming loose accidentally whilst walking.

Full Sidewall
The specific synthetic material used in the sidewall enables precise and direct power transfer.
