Product details: Völkl Blaze 86 26/27 Skis
With the Völkl Blaze 86, you get a lightweight and versatile ski that offers an agile, playful and controlled skiing experience on the piste, off-piste and on ski tours.
The Blaze 86 builds on what the other models are already known for: lightness, versatility and agility. By omitting Titanal, it feels even livelier and slightly lighter. Designed for fast, tight turns, its multi-radius sidecut also handles steeper terrain, higher speeds and long, flowing turns with ease. The suspension tips and tails ensure a smooth ride, greater float and additional protection off-piste.
A modern construction further enhances performance: flax-carbon elements improve damping and smoothness, a wood core increases stability, and multi-directional glass layers ensure even greater responsiveness.
The Völkl Blaze 86 is also an excellent choice for ski tourers, as it offers outstanding downhill performance with minimal weight. With its lightweight solid wood core, it climbs efficiently and delivers an intuitive, playful ride on the descent – except in very deep snow.

Technology:
Multilayer Woodcore Light
The Multilayer Woodcore Light consists of a solid wood core with a hardwood section in the screw area and extra-light wood on the outer sections. In alpine skiing, these models benefit particularly from the weight reduction and enable fast, sporty turns.
3D Radius Sidecut
Three radii in one ski for maximum responsiveness and speed in all-mountain use. Wider radius at the tip and tail – the wider radii at the tip and tail are ideal for wide turns and high speeds. Easy control and manoeuvrability. Less edge catch. No restriction on turn radii and easy exit from turns. Tight turn radius – the tight radius in the centre favours tight turns and moderate speeds. Extremely easy turn initiation. Super responsive. Effortless and smooth in tight turns.
Full Sidewall ABS
The specific synthetic material used in the sidewall enables precise and direct power transfer.
Suspension Tips & Tails
Inserts made of elastic, rubber-like material at the tips and tails. In wind-blown or groomed snow, they act as a buffer. Thanks to their shock-absorbing elasticity, they ensure better resistance to disturbances and provide supportive lift.
3D.GLASS
Völkl’s 3D.Glass innovation once again enhances a ski’s handling characteristics and stability, particularly in difficult snow conditions. Compared with a classic glass construction, the three-dimensional, multi-folded fabric layers at the front and rear of the binding area provide increased edge grip and a more responsive rebound of the ski when turning. 1. 3D.Glass is integrated into the tip and tail of the ski – a flat fibreglass structure beneath the binding makes the centre softer. This enables variable turning radii at any speed. 2. Fibreglass over the sidewall – ensures improved edge grip on icy slopes. 3. Vertical fibreglass structure in the front and rear sections of the ski – greater agility during rapid edge-to-edge transitions.
Base P-Tex 2100
Sintered, ultra-high-molecular-weight, high-density polyethylene base with excellent wear resistance and very good gliding properties.
Tip & Tail Rocker
Characteristics: Rocker only at the tip and tail, camber in the binding area
