Product details: Völkl Blaze 86 23/24 Skis
Völkl Blaze 86 Ski - All-mountain precision in freeride dimensions with the light weight of a touring ski.
In addition to the proven 3D radius sidecut, the Blaze 86 is built with a continuous wood core from tip to tail. This not only saves weight and makes the ski more lively, but also eliminates the need for plastic inserts - a small but positive environmental aspect. The 86 also features wrap-around suspension elements in the tip and tail for wind-blown, adverse snow conditions. The elastic, rubber-like fabrics on the shovel and tail act like a bumper, providing greater resistance to disturbances and supportive lift.
The Blaze range is designed for fast, short turns. But the three different radii, especially in combination with the continuous hybrid multilayer wood core, are designed for any style of skiing and any level of ambition.
The Völkl Blaze 86 is a real recommendation for all-mountain skiers who want to be sporty off-piste, classic freeriders or touring skiers who are prepared to accept an extra 100g of weight for significantly improved skiing characteristics.
Features:
Tip & Tail Rocker
Character: Rocked only in the shovel and tail area, preload in the binding area
3D Radius sidecut
Three radii in one ski for maximum turning ability and speed in all-mountain use: wide radius in the shovel and tail.
Full Sidewall
The sidewall along the entire length of the ski ensures direct and best possible power transmission. The wider radius in tip and tail is ideal for long turns and high speed. Easy control and maneuverability, less blending, no restriction on turn radius and easy exit from the turn, tight inside radius.
Tight center radius favors tight turns and moderate speed. Extremely easy turn initiation, super nippy, effortless and smooth in tight turns.
Suspension Tips & Tails
Inserts of elastic, rubber-like Fabrics on the edges of the tip and tail. In windblown or tracked snow, they act like a bumper. Their dampening elasticity provides better resistance to disturbance and supportive lift.
Multilayer Woodcore Light
Combining light softwood (poplar) and heavy hardwood (beech) creates a compromise of light weight, strength, durability, and cushioning. Beech wood is used in high-force areas of the ski: under the binding, along the edges and sidewalls.
Slots in the wood core reduce weight and optimize the flex pattern for more pliability in the center. The number of slots varies depending on the target group.
