Swix Marathon Powder Black is a hard glide wax powder for long-distance racing. It is designed for wet and dirty snow and contains a black additive that reduces friction caused by dirt particles. The wax is primarily intended for warmer conditions but can also be used in colder temperatures.

Marathon Powder Black can be used on its own as a race wax or as a base for a topcoat. A waxing iron temperature of 155°C is recommended for application. Iron in the powder at a speed of approximately 8–10 seconds per skating ski and allow it to cool to room temperature for around 10 minutes. For increased durability, it can then be reheated and scraped off after approximately one minute.
