Mammut Smart 2.0 is an intuitive belay device with reliable climbing rope locking.

A lot has happened since the launch of the first Smart belay device generation in 2009. Building on this experience, the Smart 2.0 features significantly improved braking performance, optimised geometry and even more intuitive handling. The newly developed brake insert engages reliably and blocks the rope even in the event of a fall.

The belaying method of the Smart 2.0 remains proven and adapts seamlessly to the reflex movements of the belayer – for maximum safety and confidence on the climbing harness.

Features:
• The Smart 2.0 weighs just 80 grams, is easy to use and has no moving parts or levers
• The Smart 2.0 works on the tube principle, making it suitable for both lead and top rope climbing
• In the event of a fall, the Smart 2.0 blocks the climbing rope, with the newly developed high-performance brake insert interacting with the belay carabiner. This provides the belayer with optimum support and greater safety
• Mammut recommends using the Smart HMS with the Smart 2.0. Suitable rope diameters are 8.7 to 10.5 mm
