Product details: Atomic Backland 109 26/27 Skitouring Skis
With the Atomic Backland 109 you benefit from a lightweight, float-capable freeride touring performance that delivers a powerful yet playful skiing feel in deep snow and demanding backcountry terrain.
The Backland 109 was developed for dynamic skiing in big-mountain and backcountry terrain and offers improved float as well as greater touring efficiency in a lightweight, shock-absorbing construction. The FreeTour profile uses more poplar wood and less metal, fiberglass, and resin to create a more harmonious flex pattern for a lively performance.
The 109 mm waist width combined with a lightweight HRZN 3D tip provides increased float in deep snow, and a solid ash wood insert delivers additional stability underfoot. An Ultra Light Woodcore made from poplar and caruba provides the ideal balance between low weight and optimal performance. The Powder Rocker features a pronounced tip and tail rocker along with camber underfoot for effortless, playful maneuverability in powder, chopped snow, and variable terrain.
By using raw materials with a lower CO2 footprint, the design reduces environmental waste and lowers CO2-equivalent emissions by 26% (compared to the Backland 100, 2022).
Inspired by Chris Rubens, it is the ideal balance of performance and weight that makes the Atomic Backland 109 the ultimate freeride touring ski.
