The Atomic Backland 101 W was developed for female ski tourers seeking freeride adventure and is designed to explore, ascend, and descend with confident security.

The ski features the same construction as the wider Backland 108 W and uses the FreeTour profile to create a touring ski with impressive downhill performance. An Ultra Light Woodcore made from poplar and caruba provides the ideal balance between low weight and optimal performance, and the three-dimensional HRZN 3D tip increases surface area for improved float in deeper snow. The Powder Rocker offers a pronounced rocker in the tip and tail as well as camber underfoot for effortless, playful handling in deep powder, uneven terrain, and chopped snow.

As a reinterpretation of the original Backland, this ski is built with more wood and less fiberglass, metal, and resin to reduce material-related CO2-equivalent emissions by 26% (compared to the Backland 100, 2022).

Developed with input from skiers such as Amie Engerbretson, it is the intuitive performance and uphill efficiency of the Atomic Backland 101 W that draw her deeper into the mountains.
