Everything started back in 1936, when Suunto built their very first compass. For many years, they did so. One day, a Finnish lieutenant was shot at by a Russian soldier. His compass, which he carried in his breast pocket, saved his life! Since then, Suunto became known for being incredibly robust. A short time later, Suunto marketed the very first diving computer that you could wear on your wrist. A while later, the first outdoor computer – meaning the first sport watch!
