Construction that convinces
Making furniture that can withstand wind and weather requires a certain know-how to find the perfect balance between lightness and stability. Since 2009, Helinox has focused on perfecting this balance and combining it with a modern and attractive design.
With Chair One in 2012, they have succeeded in meeting all these challenges and making every outing a piece of home with its different and varied designs. The chairs are made of an aluminium alloy developed by DAC, which makes the chair, table or bench extremely light yet strong.
This high-tech aluminium alloy has a higher
specification than aerospace aluminium and goes through over 70 production
steps from ingot to finished rod. The proprietary hubs and connectors are also
made from high-strength, fibre-reinforced nylon 6.6, which further enhances
stability and makes assembly in the wilderness easier.
But it is not only in terms of technology that Helinox aims to stand out from the crowd, but also with a design that reflects the brand's DNA in all its facets. Here, too, the right choice of fabric plays an important role, as does the right colour, to bring everything together harmoniously in the unmistakable shape.
All these different, carefully considered components, in combination and also in collaboration with other fashion brands, create unique pieces that make Helinox products what they are.
Durability instead of a new product
With the environment in mind, Helinox designs outdoor furniture that is not only light and easy to pack, but also very strong and durable to reduce material consumption and wear.
Only by using high quality fabrics and textiles, reinforced with panels and combined with durable seams, can the benches, loungers, trekking poles and chairs be used as they were on the first day, even after years of regular use, without sacrificing function.
The fabrics used are all BlueSign certified and are made almost entirely from recycled materials, with the aim that 90 % of the polyester used will come from recycled sources by 2023. PFC-free coatings are also part of their sustainable and eco-friendly commitment, with the exception of their umbrella, where they are actively seeking a solution.
Every Helinox product also comes with a 5 year warranty, demonstrating the company's commitment to repairing products with repairable defects rather than throwing them away. The warranty covers all manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship for a period of 5 years from the date of purchase by the original owner, and Helinox will replace or repair the product free of charge at its discretion.
