Green cycling
Founded in 1876, the brand like few others epitomizes road cycling. The Italians have not only equipped many greats of the sport, but have also regularly turned the cycling clothing market upside down with technical innovations. The brand is now increasingly dedicating itself to its responsibility towards people and the environment. In the defined areas of energy, waste and packaging, supply chain, production, social responsibility and partnerships, Castelli has set itself short, medium and long-term goals.
The Italian offices and warehouse are powered entirely by renewable energy from the company's own photovoltaic system and wind energy. By 2025, the Castelli parent company MVC wants to switch to renewable energy in all branches. When it comes to waste and packaging, Castelli focuses on three principles: upcycling, recycling and redesign. For example, the brand aims to use 100% plastic-free packaging by 2025.
To ensure that standards in the supply chain are upheld, the brand carries out its own audits. In addition, suppliers such as producers of fabrics and zippers are selected very consciously and rely on high standards such as Standard 100 by OEKO-TEX, Bluesign® and Global Recycled Standard. In production, the brand is trying to successively reduce CO2.
The brand lives up to its social responsibility by paying attention to the health of its employees and promoting it through special programs. Castelli also supports non-profits and organizations through partnerships.
