The idea for the unique stone pine products − sandals and yoga mats made of wood − came about after a surfing trip: "What goes together better than the reputed calming effects of stone pine wood and the effects of yoga." The very next day, the enterprising founder was in the workshop tinkering with the implementation of his mats and WoodWalkers. Only local stone pine from Tyrol that has been selectively felled or bent by windthrow is used.

The stone pine is famous for its essential oils and resins as well as its calming effect: better sleep, optimized and faster autonomic recovery, anti-inflammatory effect, a reduction in heart rate leading to better rest and the fact that it can help people and animals feel more grounded. The company founder promotes responsible forest management by working together with the Tyrolean forest service and various schools in reforestation projects, which are supported by every AlpineYogaMat sold.
