The Salomon MTN 96 Carbon is as efficient on the descent as it is on the ascent. It combines all the strengths of Salomon's legendary MTN 95 with an alpine shape and a lighter carbon construction. And thanks to sustainable production, it is also a good choice for the environment.
Touring Efficiency
The lightest wide touring ski Salomon ever made is carbon-reinforced to minimize uphill effort, and leave you with more energy to go beyond your comfort zone on the way down.
Uncompromised descent
Salomon’s exclusive Cork Damplifier is visibly integrated into the tip of the ski. It filters terrain vibrations and creates a more stable ski no matter the snow conditions.
More sustainable
Made to last with up to 40% sustainable materials, this ski is part of Salomon’s untiring sustainability efforts aimed at minimizing the product’s impact on the environment.
Combining all the strengths of Salomon’s iconic MTN 95, it has an alpine shape and a more lightweight, carbon construction. Sustainably made, it is an environmentally friendly choice.

Technology
Cork Damplifier
Cork is three times more absorbing than Koroyd. Using it in the tip of the ski enables a high level of vibration absorption and dampening with even less weight.
Full Sandwich Sidewalls
Full Sandwich Sidewalls guarantees stability and precision, it enhances performance by providing good edge grip and smooth ski-to-snow contact.
Ti Binding Reinforcement
A titanal insert edge-to-edge underfoot, running throughout the ski, for maximal power and increased hard snow edging.
+ Marker Alpinist 10 bindings
The ultra-light Marker Alpinist 10 Demo Pin binding offers everything experienced touring skiers demand. Its construction allows active length compensation without affecting the flex of the ski.
The carbon reinforced, very stiff ISI front facilitates the entry, because thanks to wide footprint with integrated stop, the boot is automatically correctly positioned and aligned.
Subsequently, the optimized kinematics of the pin levers allows the pins to snap shut even with very little pressure. The heel with 0°, 5° and 9° ascents can be quickly and easily rotated from ascent to descent mode.
Due to the 38 mm wide drilling pattern, the Marker Alpinist transfers power very well to the edges, which means control and good ski control. Unlike the reference Alpinist 10, the demo version offers an additional 15 mm of heel adjustment and also 72 mm of toe adjustment.

Technology
Alpinst Heel
Alpinist heel with adjustable lateral release, with various DIN options and 15mm heel adjustment range (+-7.5mm). Offers three walking modes thanks to the hot forged aluminum climbing aid. The "Fast Shift Mode" allows quick switching between neutral and maximum climbing aid. Active length compensation in the heel allows constant power transmission and release performance, even when the ski is flexed.
Climbing Aids Alpinist
Neutral walking mode and two climbing aids with 5° and 9°. The fast adjustment mode allows quick switching between 0° and 9° without having to turn the heel.
Active Length Compensation
Active length compensation at the heel, allowing the heel to move back up to 4 mm when the ski is flexed.
Isi Toe
Rubber stop pad: Fixes the toe of the boot during entry.
Wider entry platform: Widened sole reception at entry.
Easier entry: the boot locks into the binding with significantly less effort.
Please note: The selected stopper size should be the next largest, based on the center width of the ski (example: center width 95 mm -> 100 mm stopper). The "Size" selection corresponds to the stopper width. When ordering a set, the appropriate stopper is automatically mounted at no extra charge.
