Product details: Petzl Sarken Leverlock Universel Crampons Orange
The Petzl Sarken crampon with Leverlock Universal System is suitable for conditionally crampon-compatible and fully crampon-compatible shoes, and can therefore be used as a trekking crampon and as a technical crampon for high-altitude tours.
The Petzl Sarken Crampons with the Leverlock Universel System has a distinct advantage over many other crampons on the market. They are literally 2-in-1 crampons. The Leverlock binding system combines the performance of automatic crampons with the flexibility of a semi-automatic crampons.
In practice, this means you can use the crampons with both conditionally crampon resistant shoes and fully crampon resistant shoes. To do this, you simply replace the basket in the front with a metal bar. So it no longer matters whether there is a correspondingly large sole edge on the mountain boot in front. And changing is really easy.
The bottom line is that the Petzl Sarken Leverlock Universel is suitable both as trekking crampons and as technical crampons for demanding high-altitude ice tours. This is also where the T-profile of the front prongs comes into play. The combination of horizontal and vertical points ensures biting grip once it gets harder and steeper.
