Ortovox has designed the Merino Shield Tec line, which includes the Pala Shorts, precisely for such long, alpine routes.

The extremely abrasion-resistant outer material of the climbing shorts can withstand more than 50,000 abrasion cycles in the Martindale test, which measures abrasion resistance. The 4-way stretch fabric provides full freedom of movement, which is supported by an athletic cut and pre-shaped knees. Thanks to their membrane-free construction, the Ortovox Pala shorts are particularly breathable, which is supported by fine merino wool on the inside and merino mesh on the waistband for a comfortable feel.

The belt and backpack-optimized pockets and topo pocket ensure that the contents are quickly to hand. The adjustment options on the waistband also guarantee an optimum fit with every movement. For the sake of the environment, the entire Merino Shield Tec line is also completely PFC-free and climate-neutral with CO₂ compensation.
