Ortovox Fleece Loden Hooded Fleece Jacket Men
Austrian craftsmanship and fine Tasmanian merino wool: For the Merino Fleece Loden Hoody, Ortovox combined tried-and-tested Merino Fleece material with traditional Loden from the Austrian company Steiner. Even in the early days of alpinism, mountaineers relied on the felted Loden clothing produced by this company, which was founded in 1888.
For the new Fleece Loden Hoody, Ortovox has produced the tried-and-tested material from Tasmanian merino wool. This combination of Loden and Merino Fleece with polyester on the outside and pure merino wool on the inside gives the hoody everything it needs for cold winter days on the mountains.
Tasmanian merino wool
Since 1995, merino wool has been an integral component of Ortovox’s mountainwear. Their merino wool comes from happy sheep reared on monitored, ethical sheep farms. The wool is naturally 100% ecological and therefore super sustainable. Thanks to the small-diameter fibers in its fine woolen threads, merino wool feels extremely soft and comfortable on the skin. In addition to comfort, merino wool also provides an ideal personal body climate by regulating both moisture and temperature. It is also easy to care for and, thanks to its antibacterial effect, odor neutralizing.
Loden was first used over hundreds of years ago as a functional fabric that could provide protection against the elements. Ortovox combines the high functionality of loden with new fabrics in various Ortovox lines. Ortovox sources Loden woven fabric from the Austrian company Steiner, which has been producing high-quality Loden material since it was founded in 1888.
