Product details: Faction La Machine 3 Mega 24/25 Skis
With the Faction La Machine 3 Mega, you're reaching for the top end of the freetouring spectrum, because a 109 mm centre width is no mean feat. The top of the Faction La Machine series clearly focuses on maximum float at an acceptable weight. So you're ready for off-piste touring on the deepest days.
This slimmer version offers similar float as compared to its fatter sibling, but in a more versatile package - for ample flotation on the deepest of days and nimble handling when the weather's high and dry. Faction La Machine Mega's progressive, rockered shape allows for hook-free pivoting and surfing across any and all snow you may encounter on your ski-touring adventures.
In addition to its top-notch, durable Austrian quality construction, the Faction La Machine 3 Mega Ski stands out for its sustainable characteristics. The La Machine Mega also features a sustainable wood core that is sourced from Europe and is FSC certified, and it is made from recycled components as well as bio-based resin. Faction sources materials from European companies close to its factories to keep the supply chain short. In addition, Faction donates 1 % of all proceeds from the Agents, La Machine and Dancer series to the non-profit organization 1% for the planet.

Technology
Carbon Stringer
Between 8 and 12 unidirectional carbon strips enclose both sides of the wood core, giving the ski additional stability without increasing its weight. Each carbon strip is woven into the fibreglass for added stability and stiffness throughout the ski.
Poplar core
Poplar is a light-coloured, medium-weight, durable softwood with good flex and pop and excellent vibration dampening. Because only a single wood is used here, the ski jumps, butters and and stomps like a classic park ski. At the same time, it has enough torsional stability for impressive grip on the descents.

Recommended mounting points (acc. to manufacturer)
A mounting point further back on the ski promotes stability, float, and carving performance. This is generally preferred by those with a traditional technique, who ski in a forward stance or with lots of pressure on the front of their boots through the whole turn
CLASSIC
The Classic line offers optimal carving ability. Choose this position if you like to heavily pressure the front of your ski boots and ski shovels through your turns. Mounting at the Classic mark will optimize float in deep snow, giving you the most tip length of any of our three recommended positions.
Best for: those skiing with a traditional stance, ex-racers, big-mountain chargers.
PROGRESSIVE (equivalent to mounting point "Allround Standard" when requested in order process)
Progressive is the Faction recommended mount position for the Prodigy, Dancer, La Machine, and Agent lines. Progressive is the most versatile position on the ski, and provides the perfect balance of carving performance and manoeuvrability. This is the position Faction recommend, if you’re unsure where you want to put your bindings, or if you’re simply looking for the most all-around solution.
Best for: all-rounders, those drawing on both freeride and freestyle inspiration in their skiing.
NEWSCHOOL
The Newschool position is for those who ski with a playful, freestyle-influenced style, wanting to maximize pivot ability and potential for butters, tricks, and spins. Skiers preferring New School will likely have a more ‘centred’ and neutral stance, with less pressure on the shins through turns. Newschool is the Faction recommended mount point for the Mana series.
Best for: Freestylers, those who ski with a centred stance, those wanting to maximize manoeuvrability
