The integrated 162L airbag stores the energy that powers the compressor when triggered in the Alpride E2 super capacitor system. Unlike batteries, which work with a chemical reaction, super capacitors store energy using electromechanical properties and release it in the same way. This makes super capacitors significantly more reliable at low temperatures. It is also the reason why the energy stored in a super capacitor is released more quickly when triggered.
