More about Triple2

The mission sustainability

Since the company's start in 2010, Triple2 represents sustainable and environmentally friendly cycling clothing manufactured in Europe. The founder Matthias Dreuw, a graduate engineer in regenerative energy technology and passionate cyclist, is responsible for this identity. Team members value the versatility of biking, whether as daily transportation, fun in the bike park or on the road.

Trippletwo, Trippelzwei, 222 - Triple2!? Sorry, what?

To understand the story behind, we have to turn the wheel of time a little. "When it all began" back in 1994, the fascination with the 222 Trail was discovered on Lake Garda. At that time, the trail above Limone and Pregasina was explored in cut-off and less functional jeans. But there was definitely enough style, and the love for it has resulted in cycling clothes today that are fashionable and functional in the city, in the office and on the trails.

The Triple2 team relies on 30 years of pedalling experience and this ensures the clarity of what is possible. The closeness to nature, environmental responsibility and the bike lifestyle on the mountain and in the valley come together at Triple2. The result of this are sustainable products and collections that can be used far beyond their intended use on the bike.

The bike clothing is true handcraft and all the way up to the first ride with the new jersey or shorts, a few diligent fingers have already worked with passion to ensure the perfect fit and seams. Triple2's goal is to make your bike rides as comfortable as possible.

In order to leave the smallest possible carbon footprint, all products are sustainably packaged and produced with love. In addition, the production is made with renewable raw materials such as merino wool, natural materials such as Tencel or recycled fabrics from Ocean Waste or discarded fishing nets to reduce existing environmental damage.

"Rider owned - rider driven"

Ocean Waste and fishing nets?

Exactly! Products with Econyl® use a regenerated synthetic fibre obtained from old fishing nets or plastic waste that has already ended up in the sea. Triple2 works with suppliers from Germany, Europe and New Zealand who pay attention to the highest quality standards and ensure that the material base comes from valuable and toxic-free raw materials. This is where the identification and love for the diversity of cultures and people comes from. 100 percent of Triple 2's products are produced in European-certified factories.

There is a high level of trust and appreciation towards the suppliers. The wealth of experience and know-how of the teams as well as the modern facilities result in the quality and durability of the products.  Whether you're on a road bike in search of new passes, moving out of your comfort zone on a gravel bike or surfing the trails on a mountain bike, Triple2's cycling clothing is durable and protects you in all your activities.

The functional clothing from Triple2 is timeless, environmentally friendly and fair and helps to maintain trails and care for forests and paths.

The future of multifunctional clothing

It's almost like rocket science to pack your backpack for a day trip without leaving out the right jacket or trousers. You have to force and squeeze everything until it all fits.

Triple2 has the solution! One jacket, one cycling jersey or one pair of trousers for several outdoor activities. The bike pants are also perfect for hiking or sitting in a café in the afternoon. The jackets keep you dry when jogging or protect you from annoying wind on a ski tour.

Ooh, sheeps are cute! And merino!

And did you notice anything? The ones in the picture are not merino sheep at all, but they are like cousins. Regardless of this, animal care has a very high priority for Triple2! Therefore, in addition to various recycled fibres, only bluesign® certified merino wool from happy sheeps in New Zealand is used in the production. Furthermore, care is taken to ensure that the merino wool is mulesing free.

Merino wool already has natural temperature-regulating, breathable and antibacterial properties. Compared to synthetic fibres, there is no need for complex processes to produce these features. The natural fibre offers an enormously high functionality with a small footprint. Read more about this in our blog Merino: The all-rounder among functional materials.

Hit the river bed or head straight over for the handlebars?

No problem! Triple2 helps you with damaged products with a repair service or a crash replacement. This is how sustainability works!

Casual, functional and sustainable, are the keywords which we associate Triple2 with at Sport Conrad.
